So, are you saying that there is an apple desk top version that works better
than the Microsoft store version? I have had nothing but awful luck with
iTunes and would love to find a more intuitive version.

So you are going from using a free program which can be a bit tricky but
is useable (iTunes) to a paid program which is not easily dealt with, either
(Waltr2).

I'm not saying for some tasks like what Richard is describing it might not
be good, but for ringtones I can't see it being all that much simpler
because it's really not all that difficult in iTunes.

OK, granted, I haven't done this in a while and actually haven't even had
iTunes on my computer for a bit, but since Richard has sent me a few
ringtones made from the Loon recordings I installed iTunes this morning from
the Microsoft Store and I'm now going to plug in my iPhone and see what
happens; I'll be back shortly.

OK, I must say that while I haven't tried the desktop version of iTunes
downloaded from Apple, the Microsoft Store version is a huge pain in the
area where digested food exits the body. I actually just got iTunes from
there because I was curious whether anything had changed, but I remember not
finding that version as easy to use as the desktop version which of course I
will now have to test so maybe tomorrow I'll uninstall the iTunes app and
install the desktop application.

Anyways, I did manage to get Richard's tones copied over to my iPhone and
even renamed them, but I find the tab key is very useless now and it's
almost all using F6 and actually I had to use the touch cursor at times. One
example which used to be easy was to get to the "iPhone" button to get to
the device area/sidebar. I used to simply press Control + F which takes you
to the search field in iTunes and then I had to tab once or twice to get to
the iPhone button. Now that doesn't seem to work and eventually I tried the
touch cursor and I found the iPhone button that way and was able to activate
it. From there pressing F6 a few times got me to the device treeview where I
arrowed down until I found tones, here I was able to press tab or F6 3 or 4
times to get to the Tones treeview where I was still able to use the arrow
keys to see what was there/. I now went to the folder where I saved the
ringtones, copied them to the clipboard, it was 5 tones which I copied all
at once, and then I went back to iTunes where I was still in the Tones list
and pressing Control + V did work to paste them and at that point they
immediately started syncing to my phone which I had of course connected
earlier.

Keep in mind that once you connect an iPhone a prompt comes up asking if
you trust this computer and you have to tap "Trust" and after that you are
asked to enter your passcode, Face Id or Touch I d won't cut it here, it has
to be your passcode.

Anyways, after the tones had copied I found them in the list, but I like
to start all my custom ring tones with the word "Custom" so I pressed Shift
+ F10 on one of the tones, I realized pressing F6 4 or 5 times took me to
the title field where I could now type in what I wanted and pressing enter
saved it, a few seconds later I would hear the tritone from iTunes which
indicates an operation has finished. I repeated this with the other 4 tones
and they are now on my phone.

This should have taken me a few minutes, but while I did explore a bit, I
spend probably at least 10 or 15 minutes figuring out how I would get where,
I could do it much faster now, but it really should be a lot easier than
this.

Well, there is a very tedious, but good app that is a paid app called
WALTR Pro that for Windows users requires that iTunes be present on the
computer, but you don’t have to deal with iTunes.

The issue is, the program is not easily dealt with. Because someone else
asked for it, I did about an 8 minute demo that I put on my web site of the
basics of transferring something to the phone. I use it mostly for
transferring zipped audio or just mp3 files to Voice Dream Reader. But I
have used it for ringtones and it works quickly and easily once you know the
steps.

I created a Demos page off my main page.

I would love to know how to sync ring tones from my computer to my phone
without using iTunes.

If you didn't do the wireless setup from your old phone to the new one
to begin with, you cannot direct transfer the ringtones from the old phone
to the new.

You can copy them from your computer directly onto the new phone without
using the sync service of iTunes. In fact, tones do not sync through iTunes
any more.

Ii If you want to do that, I I think the steps will be easy to find, but
if you cannot find them, let me know.

Is there a way to transfer my ring tones from my SE to my 13 pro if
so how? I see my tones in where you change your ring tones. Help is
appreciated.
