There are 3 possibilities: 1. Voiceover has been turned off 2. Voiceover is on, but you have turned off speech by accidently doing a 3-finger double tap 3. The volume is turned all the way down
For scenario 1 you can try and press the side button 3 times if you have it set up to toggle Voiceover on and off or you can press and hold the side button and say "Siri turn on Voiceover". If Voiceover is already turned on it won't do any harm, Siri will simply say "Voiceover is already turned on". For scenario 2 make sure you wake up your screen by pressing the side button and to a 3-finger double tap, if Voiceover is on but speech was turned off then if you do a clean 3-finger double tap it will say "Speech On" and all will be fine. If it is the third scenario then once again making sure your phone is awake and repeatedly pressing the side button will raise volume back to where you can hear Voiceover. You can also press and hold volume up, count to 3 or 4 and by then volume should be way up. Hi Everyone, I was just sitting at my Computer, and I had my phone sitting on my Computer desk, and for some strange reason my phone started dialing 911 emergency. 911 Emergency called me back 3 times, but I couldn’t answer the phone. I used my Magic Jack phone to call 911 to let them know I am ok. I tried to stop the Phone from calling, but I can’t hear Voiceover. I pressed the volume button up, I tried 3 finger tapping to turn Voiceover back on, but I still can’t hear anything at all, except when I turn the phone off I can hear the sound when I usually turn off the Phone, or when I plug the charger in to the phone. I can’t get in touch with Siri either. I have an iPhone XR with the latest iOS. Can someone please tell me what I might do to get Voiceover to start talking. Thank you all in advance.
