Allison, We really can't advise you on whether your new headphones will work well with a new iPhone without knowing the specific model of the headphones and its specific cable connector type. A USB type C connector is a lot like a lightning connector so you need to read the specs of your new headphones to determine what type of connector it has. If it is a lightning connector, it should work just fine with any of the newer model iPhones which all come with lightning ports. Conventional headphone jacks are all but nonexistent on newer smartphone models.
