OK, if it is actually a lightning plug, I thought as far back as the 6S the lightning port could also be used as an earphone jack with the earphones tha have the lightning plug. If it is a USB C plug then no it won't.
I have used lightning plug earphones on the original SE, so maybe I'm making a wrong assumption that it would also work on the 6S. But, no, it won't plug into the 3.5 jack; so I gather you tried them in the lightning port and got no sound, right? I stand corrected. But, again, assuming they have the lightning plug, they will work with all phones since the first gen SE, if not earlier.
