Richard, if you select pool swim it will automatically turn on waterlock at least it will if I remember correctly. If you don't want to use a workpout then you can pull down for control centre and turn waterlock on there.

Do I need to do anything in particular to lock the watch or anything before getting in the water? I checked out the workouts and the pool swimming looks like what I would use.
