Which iPhone do you have, if this is supposed to work at all you would need an iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max or iPhone 14 Pro /Pro Max, these are the only models which have the LiDAR sensor. I can't speak for any apps or having tried this, but for a blind person it might be difficult even if it can be done because if you can't see if anything is blocking the distance between one wall and another your LiDAR could be bouncing off obsticles. Some years ago I bought a laser measure device which are available for construction work. This one had an app and while it wasn't great I could get it to work so it displayed the result in the app and these devices are quite accurate, I have no idea what sort of accuracy you would get with an iPhone and whether that would be good enough for what you need the measurement for. I do a lot of woodworking and have both a talking tape measure as well as several click rules with extensions although those are still awkward for measuring anything much beyond 8 or 10 feet, they are great for accurate measurements of a piece of lumber you want to cut or to set the fence of a table saw and so on. The talking tape measure from Cobalt Systems in England which is sold in quite a few stores like Maxiaids, probably Blind Mice Mart etc. is a great tool.
