Hi Joseph,

A Quick Google search gave me the following website which seems to be
up-to-date:

Spectrum Mobile Roaming Rates For All
Countries<https://tecody.com/spectrum-mobile-roaming-rates/>

According to that, Spectrum does charge for calls, texts and data although it
is quite reasonable, here is what they show for Canada and the Philippines:
Canada
Call: $0.01/minute
SMS: $0.02
Data: $0.01/mb
Philippines
Call: $0.08/minute
SMS: $0.02
Data: $0.01mb

Text and data rates are the same, but calls if you are in the Philippines can
add up at 8 Cents a minute. Using data would work out to be $10/Gb so if I used
3 Gb during a typical holiday it would be $30 which isn't too bad and if our
Canadian carriers would offer such a deal I probably wouldn't bother getting a
local SIM in the Philippines, either although in this particular example I
still might because my wife's family usually texts and of course they would not
want to send us texts to our Canadian numbers. Despite the fact that a SIM is
inexpensive there and data is relatively cheap compared to here in Canada,
still many people can't afford to have some big data plan all the time.
I know a friend of mine from Germany can use his German mobile here as if he
was at home and it doesn't cost him anything extra, but he has some sort of
fairly large package thorugh his provider there which gives him his home phone,
internet, cell phone and I think also TV and I guess if you pay enough then you
get it for free, but as always and everywhere, you get what you pay for and if
you try to find the best and least expensive package here, then you can't
typically assume you have free roaming included.
It is not for no reason why sometimes you hear about people who travel outside
of the US or Canada and their kid ends up watching a few movies without the
parents realizing it and they come home to a $1,000 roaming bill. When I
searched for the Spectrum roaming rates I saw a search result which stated that
T-Mobile apparentl did away with roaming charges.

Yes, I guess that's what I mean. They have roaming agreements. With other
countries. And you won't be charged extra for using that service from what they
say.

Also, what do you mean by " Spectrum will be supported wherever you go"? If you
mena they have roaming agreements with carriers in many other countries then
that is true for pretty much all providers, but it is not necessarily a good
option in terms of cost. Once again, I don't know what they offer exactly, but
here in Canada using the roaming feature if you go on holidays for 2 or 3 weeks
is definitely not a good option. Telus, for example, has their "easy roam"
option and with it I can use my iPhone just if I were at home and while this
may be convenient, it is expensive. They have two plans, if I travel to the
United States it is $14/day and if I travel internationally they offer the same
in somewhere around 200 countries for $16/day. Yes, I can then simply use my
phone, people can call my Canadian number and I can talk unlimited, I can also
call back to Canada unlimited and I can use my data according to my plan, e.g.
I have a 50 Gb data plan so that is what I can use. However, if I am there
let's say for 20 days then it costs me $320 and considering that in the
Philippines I can buy a SIM for 40 Pesos (approx. $1 Canadian or around 70
Cents US) and I can buy 2 or 3 Gb of data for maybe $5, this is super
expensive. I use a Voice over IP phone system for my business so as long as I
have data, I get all business calls and can decide whether to take them or not
and I can call out from my business number. As for family and friends, many
have iPhones or use WhatsApp so that is not a problem, either and typically 2
or 3 Gb of data will be enough for 2 or 3 weeks if it's used primarily for just
email and phone calls, but even if I have to buy another couple of Gigs, I can
typically still get by spending maybe $10 or $15 which is a lot less than $320.
On the other hand, if I had to go to the US for a couple of days to a trade
show or something like that I would of course not bother, I'd just pay the
$14/day and not worry about having to get some sort of prepaid service.

For the most part a Dollar (that would

Hi Mike, while I just switched to eSIM from my iPhone 14, I will tell you, once
you got the eSIM, it makes the transfer to the new phone a lot easier. Is there
will be a pop-up that will pop up on your old phone or I mean new phone for you
to ask, allow the eSIM transfer. Once this is done, you will be set to go. And
even if you do travel out of the country, Spectrum will be supported wherever
you go. They have multiple countries supported.

Hi All,

My wife and I we'll be receiving our new SE2022 iPhones today. Which will be
better, sticking with the physical SIM Cards, or switching to the, eSIM card?

If we do any traveling it'll be only here in the United States and our carrier
is Spectrum. So, since our carrier is nationwide this shouldn't be any
problem. I'm throwing thi information in because this could matter to someone
that travels out of the country.

All input is welcome. Thanks much.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go Dodgers!
