How do you get VoiceOver to read the actual channel names? I mainly stream
SiriusXM on my Echo Studio. I know the names of a lot of the main channels
because my boyfriend has been a subscriber for years and knows a lot about what
they offer, but there are extra channels out there that I can't ask her to play
because I don't know what their names are. VoiceOver just reads a very brief
description of each channel.

Hello.
A tip. Go to ios settings, accessibility, voice over, commands, all commands,
choose a command section, touch or keyboard works, but more commands on
keyboard. Here comes the tip: if the voice over says the command is already in
use, don't press cancel, press apply/ok/confirm or whatever the button
describe in english, then do the same thing one more time e.g choose a command
with vo down on the keyboard and whatever key combination you like, i mean one
letter or one number. It just works.
The importance is to , if you get the error message (already in use), to hit
apply/ok/confirm button the first time anyway, then make the command one more
time. It looks like you can have more than one command at the same time, i
mean, more than one key combination for the same command at the same time. You
can also easy delete the old key combination by using the rotor and up arrow.
Many thanks

Hi all, So I haven't used the zello app in years. I just re-installed it and
now it doesn't seem to work good with Iphones. When I push the hold to talk,
sometimes it works and most times it doesn't. If anyone can find or tell me a
work around to get it to work I'd appreciate that. Thanks

Good afternoon, there is a setting that you can go to and you can change it or
you do a two finger double tap to transmit and a two finger double tap to
receive and it works a lot better. I'll have to look and see for that setting
is in the menu.

Thanks. I saw all that last night. Odd thing is that voice over never tells me
the same thing, either that or I hit on something different. Neither does my
old 6 say the same thing that my SE second generation says, both in the Alexa
App.
This morning, I coached someone sighted to simply get to the
place to plug in the new password since the network had already been selected.
Voila, and the second old phone also connected without me having to fuss around
in the Alexa App. I was on the right track.
I'm finding Siri somewhat unreliable, unless I want to blame it all on my human
error. I do not thinkit is all me!

You have to go into the Alexa app on your phone and hook the Alexa device up to
the Wi-Fi of your current/new location. The Alexa speaker connects to Wi-Fi
just like your iPhone or any other device by recognizing the Wi-Fi name and
then of course you have to provide the credentials, e.g. the password of the
Wi-Fi network you want to connect to.
To do this do the following:
1. Open the Amazon Alexa app on your iPhone
2. tap on the "Devices" tab at the bottom (it is 4 of 5, so second from the
right)
3. Tab on "Echo and Alexa", this is the first item in the list of available
device groups
4. Find the Echo device you want to change and double tap on it
5. Find Wi-Fi and tap on it
6. It will display the Wi-Fi name that was last used and it should say
"Change", this is a link, tap on it and follow the instructions to select a new
Wi-Fi and enter the password when prompted.

This may not be an appropriate question for this group. Just let me know if it
isn't.
I brought an old screenless Echo Device to a place where I am
staying. I saw nowhere in the Alexa App to take it off-line in one place and
put it on another.
The only way it will talk to me is if I turn on Bluetooth. I'd rather hook it
up to the wifi where I am staying.
Amazon for customers with disabilities says my inquiry is not suitable for a
phone call but I am too tired now to struggle with this more now.

I have the app. It is accessible. However, I will say that there does not
appear to be a good search feature on the app. For example, I can not type in a
channel in an edit field. Maybe it does exist. But if that feature does exist.
Voice-o er does not read it. However, the app is pretty accessible.

Yes, the StarPlayerX app offers a simplified experience when using Sirius XM.
However, there are a lot of features in the Sirius XM app which are not in
StarPlayerX, such as the ability to pause and resume ones listening, or to "Go
Live," on a channel which is broadcasting live content. I have found a few
unlabeled buttons in Sivius but one can relabel those to be more
understandable. I do wish there was an easier way to edit my favorites, rather
than deleting and re-creating them all over again, like I did a few years ago.
On the whole, the Sirius app is very accessible, though I did have a learning
curve when I started using it in 2020. Your mileage may vary.
Good luck,
Wayne

PS: Some of my fave channels include 25, Classic Rewind; 38, Ozzie's Boneyard,
which is classic hard rock; the Big 40 countdown each Friday from the 80's on
8, and more!!

So? She can use it however she wants.. as can you. The advantage to doing it
the way Barbara's mom does, is one, it's fun, and 2, you can shape it into
rools.
Also, Barbara's mom may not have the hand strength or desire to knead dough.
It's a lot of work. My teenager enjoys it, and as I point out to her, you are
still in the phase of cooking where you don't *have* to do it, I am at the
phase of cooking where I *need* to do it. It makes a big difference in how you
accomplish the same goal.

Hi everyone.
I just wanted to put my two cents in here.
My mom has used a bread maker to make delicious bread for at least 20 years.
She uses it to mix up and need the bread dough. She then removes the dough
from the bread maker puts it in bread pans and lets it rise that way. Then she
bakes it in the oven. She has used it to make all kinds of bread white bread
Italian bread wheat bread rye bread banana bread all kinds and they all were
delicious

However, I would like to point out that making the kind of basic bread you can
make in a bread maker is really quite easy and really all the bread maker does
is to combine 3 tasks which is to mix/knead, rise/proof the dough and then bake.
You still have to put the ingredients, typically flour, water, yeast,, a bit of
salt and potentially any seeds you may add into the bread maker. I would highly
recommend to read a bit about making bread, learn a few ground rules about
activating "active dry yeast" and try to mix/knead the dough, then let it rise,
punch it back down and let rise again and finally bake. It's a very satisfying
process and the results once you get the hang of it are better than what comes
out of a bread maker.
There is of course an entire different area of bread making when you start
using sour dough and making heavy bread with flour such as spelt, Red Fife,
Einkorn or other ancient grains, but that type of bread can't be made in a
bread maker anyways.

My bread maker, it was from the brand "Regal", got used maybe a dozen times and
then it sat around for 10 or 15 years before I finally sold it for $25 on
Facebook.

Hi all,

Do any of you use or are you aware of any bread makers that are accessible
using bluetooth/wifi? If so, what brands/models?

Also, other than smart machines do any of you use bread makers that are
physically accessible using buttons/knobs/dials etc?

Thanks.

I am nuts about heavy food, do not like stuff full of air, and I would dearly
love to enjoy some of that bread!
I, for one, never wanted to get a bread maker. My sister-in-law had one, and
her bread did not taste like home made bread; it tasted like store-bought
bread.

Subject: RE: smart bread makers or else physically accessible
I have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer for the mixing/kneading process since my taste
in bread is a bit different. I am originally from Germany and even though I was
born there and lived there until I was 22, I am 56 now which means I have been
in Canada for 34 years versus my 22 years in Germany. But my taste for heavy
German-style sourdough bread has not changed. I make crusty rolls and do a lot
of German-style cakes, but I have not yet tried my hand at real sourdough bread
because even though I live in a very small community of a little over 5,000, we
have a very skilled bread maker here. She is Australian and not German, but she
has a real wood fired oven and her bread is as good as any from a traditional
German bakery and while I want to learn at some point, the fact is that she can
do it vbetter than me.
My Dad's cousin in Germany was a baker and his father was a baker and things
there are also changing as small artisan style bakeries disappear and more and
more stuff is made in large factories and sold in supermarket bakeries and so
on. I guess in many cases you like what you grow up with, I know plenty of
people here who can't understand how I like this heavy bread with a crust where
one quarter inch thick slice with a bit of ham and cheese on top fills you up,
some think it's sour and of course it has a hint of that as does all sourdough
bread, you can't toast it because it's just not that kind of bread, but if I am
away on holidays somewhere I can't get it then I can't wait for my first fresh
slice when I get home.

That is true! Thanks God that I am not picky! I couldn't afford to sit long
with my muscle degeneration. So I need a wireless headset for my meetings.
As long as it works well particularly muting or unmuting myself.

I use the same headset and yes, it is expensive, but honestly, it's the best
out there.
