Hi Sieghard,

I agree with you on the Logitech H800. If you remember I told you about them
many years back. Since a person cannot get them anymore, I have been on the
hunt for something to take their place. I have tried many headsets. The ones I
am using now are the best things I have found to take their place. They are the
Jabra Evolve2 75. They are a very good headset with many features. They have a
dongle and also have hear through along with about 30 hours of battery life.
They have an app to make all kinds of adjustments on them. The one thing they
do very well is you can be on your pc and also on the iPhone at the same time.
No more switching back and forth. So if you are on your pc and get a phone call
you just push the button on the headset and you can answer and talk on the
headset. Then push the button to hang up on the headset. Then if you are on
your pc you can just pickup your iPhone and start using it and voice over
starts and you can do anything on your iPhone. Then you can go back to the pc
and the sound comes from your pc without doing anything. Also I like the hear
through feature as I can talk to my wife and hear her with my headset on. If
you want to turn it off you can just push button on the headset to turn off
hear through or turn it back on. I also where hearing aids on my ears and the
Jabra Evolve2 75 go on the ear and not over them which works great for me
wearing hearing aids. They are very comfortable as I wear them 10 to 15 hours
a day. There is only one issue is they are kind of expensive. If you call Jabra
sales, they will give you a lot off and free shipping. It is cheaper price
then Amazon. Again the headset is a Jabra Evolve2 then 75. It sound like 275
but is Jabra Evolve2 then 75. You can call them at (866) 697-8757

Mr. Ed

You get perfect, lag-free performance and responsiveness with a Logitech H800,
the problem is that that headset is as far as I know discontinued.

There are other headsets which use a dongle, but you have to make sure it's
actually a dongle which communicates with the headset via 2.4 Khz frequency and
not via some sort of Bluetooth protocol since there are also headsets with a
dongle and it's actually a Bluetooth connection.

The good thing is that you can easily buy replacement battery packs for the
H800 on Amazon and also replacement foam ear cushions so hopefully I can use
mine for many years to come. The H800 does not have super battery life as some
other headsets do, but it's in my opinion the most comfortable, relatively
light weight and the fact it can communicate via 2.4 Ghz as well as Bluetooth
makes it a super solution. I have it paired with my iPhone via Bluetooth so if
I slide the on/off switch up just one click it connects to my iPhone and if I
slide it up another click it connects to the dongle via 2.4 Ghz.

Sieghard, are you telling me, and I think you are, that you get good Windows
screen reader performance with your Logitek H800 headset with a wireless
dongle? I can’t stand JAWS with any Bluetooth headsets I’ve tried, so this
could really be great!

There is no fix, this is simply a result of Bluetooth latency which exists in
even the best and most expensive headsets and sometimes I found that expensive
headsets had more of a delay than inexpensive ones. Even Apple has not figured
this out with their expensive Airpods, Airpods Pro and Airpods Max; maybe some
people now come back and say this is not an issue with these headsets, but then
maybe you just don't notice it because I certainly do. This is also one reason
why I just can't stand using a Bluetooth headset or even a Bluetooth keyboard
with a PC; I type and work much too fast to put up with the slight delay I get
on a Bluetooth keyboard versus no lag I get if I use a Logitech wireless
keyboard using a USB dongle or a wired keyboard. Same goes for my Logitech H800
wireless headset which can work in Bluetooth mode as well as via a USB dongle
plugged into a computer.

I notice that when I’m using Bluetooth headphones and am typing on my Iphone
that there are latency issues between my finger pressing whatever I want to
type and me hearing the letter through my headphones. Anybody know how to fix?
