I agree with this mostly. I still have my iPhone 11, and I’ll probably hold on
to it until the latest IOS no longer supports it. However, no IOS or iPhone has
been perfect, including the iPhone 8. Also, new features are constantly being
added, so this is something to take into account when deciding to upgrade or
not. I tend to move up to the latest version of IOS since no version of IOS
I’ve ever run as been perfect and I am optimistic (although maybe mistakenly)
that things will get better with every new version.

That’s one of the reasons I don’t update the iOS right away. And why I still
have my iPhone 8 and Matt’s iPhone second GEN that came out in 2020 because all
of these faulty things going on. Plus, why taking pay out money for a new
phone when the ones work just fine that we have.
Thanks for reading regarding this matter.

Hi Mark and all,

Sadly my experience with the new iPhone 15 Pr is manifesting the annoying drag
and drop bug wherein when attempting to place apps before or after others
folders are inadvertently created against the user's will. It is really
irritating and this is on an iPhone 15 Pr which was set up as new so there's no
corruption potentially from having restored from a backup.

I'm also still not receiving sounders for in coming email even though all is
set properly. But other than those all seems well at this early hour.

And I agree the 15's do feel lighter than those that had come before them.

Take good care,

Robin

Hello All,

So, I am posting this again, now.

Hello All,

Well, I spent 3 hours in the Apple Store this morning with both a 15
Plus and a 15 Pro Max running iOS 17.

As for the physical devices? They definitely weigh less than the 14 series.

I am happy to report that I could not reproduce any of the VoiceOver
problems discussed on the list, of late.

For example, the single-finger, double-tap problem simply does not
exist on the 15 models I tested.

I had a friend of mine, the executive manager of the store, download a
few third-party apps such as Amazon, Libby, and Yelp. To my delight,
VoiceOver functioned just as expected.

Of course, I was not able to test VoiceOver functionality with my
personal primary third-party app; so in no way am I suggesting that
my testing was definitive or comprehensive.

However, I can say that my first experience with iOS 17 was a good one.

I was delighted to discover that while there were hundreds of preorder
customers waiting in-line, outside the location, the store had plenty
of iPhone 15 models, in all four major categories, ready to be
purchase by those of us who did not preorder.

I wasn't planning on buying a 15 but I have to admit that I really,
really like that new action button, featured on the Pro models.
Perhaps I'll pick up a 15 Pro Max in the next week or so, after I've given it
some thought.

I did, however, purchase a set of wired Ear Pods with the USBC
connector and the USBC to Lightning adaptor so that I can continue to
use my already purchased Lightning Ear Pods with USBC devices. It's all about
"baby steps"
(smile).

Your Brother in the Journey,

Mark
