That is only true if you have a wall charger which also has a USB-C plug. There are still many wall adapters out there which have a regular full-size USB-A port in which case you would need a cable with USB-A (large USB plug on one end and a USB-C on the other end which would plug into your iPhone. A cable with USB C on both ends is what you need.
