Well, that is true. I guess toggling it on and off is what it will take. If I want to search for something, I don’t want to have to flick a bunch, so when I want to do that, I will turn on screen Recognition.
Otherwise, I will leave it off, unless I find other spots where it works better. I wish they have left the app alone. For example, when I touch near the bottom where it showed me the currently playing room and what is/was playing there, without screen recognition I get from top to bottom (swiping right as I go): Playing on Bedroom (that was the last place/speaker I played last night) An Spailpin Fanach, Connie Dover Output selector button Play track position at 68% button Mute bedroom off button Bedroom volume 30%, adjustable If I turn screen recognition on, I get this: Bedroom, An Spailpin Fanach, Button Play button Next swipe I just hear a Voiceover click, but nothing is spoken Adjustable 30 That's it, no output selector unless that unamed button is it, no indication of track position and the mute button is not even mentioned, as well as the "Bedroom volume, 30%, adjustable" slider which actually was just fixed in yesterday's update, is broken up in that "adjustable 30" Sonos has certainly made a big mess of this update which is supposed to be so much better and which according to a Sonos group I joined on Facebook is hated universally by just about everybody, but they have certainly been fixing a lot of things, many features which were initially missing have been added back and Voiceover accessibility is greatly improved although I still think it's not as good as it was and the simple fact is that the app itself in my opinion really is a step back. Of course many people complained about the old app as well so in some ways these companies sometimes thik they should do something and in the end it's the wrong thing. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and where this app is a year from now, but that is a different topic. I understand that this should not be turned on for apps that work with voiceover, but am just trying to understand what is going on. I was trying to experiment with it to see if it might work with the Omnilogic app for controlling our pool, which isn’t at all accessible once you have logged in. Unfortunately, we are just at the stage where we are trying to determine if there is any way to make this app accessible, so the only way we can really try it is to have our pool service rep connect to someone else’s pool that uses this controller.
