They are always doing stuff and sometimes they catch some hacker or group of hackers, but just as with thieves it is a never-ending battle, just because they catch one thief that doesn't mean another one won't target you or somebody else tomorrow. And I shuld probably not even say "thief" but "criminal" because it could be a thief or any other sort of criminal.
