If it says “invite” this means they are not using Whatsapp or at least not with the number you have in yoru contacts. If you have an Entry, say John Smith, in Contacts with a mobile number and John Smith has Whatsapp installed on his phone, you can ask Siri “Call John Smith with Whatsapp”,. Keep in mind that you may have to unlock your phone first.

Each person’s name is followed by the word “invite”. Tapping person X brings up a send text screen. The TO: field has the phone number. The text field seems to have a web address. Hello, My visiting brother-in-law setup my Iphone with Whatsapp, to be able to have a video call with his family in England. This we did, each calling each other and getting a video connection. Now my Contacts has a second card for him (added by Whatsapp) with a button for video. If a friend has whatsapp installed can one of us call the other and each phone will make an automatic video connection. Or, will each of us have to make manual configuration setting first?
