Hey Mark,
It’s nice that you provided that alternative on the workouts, but it’s BS that Apple doesn’t let the normal thing come through for voice users. That’s just stupid. Anybody who relies on that or wants to rely on it should write Apple accessibility and tell them to get their head out of wherever they had it.

Hello Everyone,

1.
Sieghard, to address your comment:
You are quite correct in that Siri will not announce distance at 1 mile / kilometer integers when VoiceOver is enabled.
However, as I described in a previous post, using the watch settings listed in the previous post, leave VoiceOver focus on the top most matrix of the display, during your workout, and VoiceOver will announce distance integers along with the percentage of the workout completed.
So, assuming you leave VO focus at the top of the watch display, and you reach the 1 mile / kilometer mark, VO will say something like, “1 circle,” along with the elapsed time.  When you reach the second mile / kilometer, VO will say something like, “2 circles,” and so on.

2.
John, with Siri enabled, you can say something like, “Siri, end workout,” and the workout will be terminated.  Also, if you prefer, you can create a shortcut and set it as a complication to end any workout.

Not sure if there is a setting which fixes this and I also haven’t tried to see if this happens with a running workout as well, but here is something I find endlessly annoying when my wife and I go for a walk.

We both have the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

So we leave the house and both start the “Outdoor Walk, open goal” in the driveway.

I have Voiceover on, but my wife is sighted so she obviously does not need it.

As we walk along and reach the 1 Km mark, Siri announces “1 Km” on my wife’s Apple Watch and I think the time might be mentioned, my watch is silent. This repeates for her each additional Kilometer.

I have checked it by turning Voiceover off on my watch after I start the workout and then I also get the announcement.

Once again, I find it incredibly annoying why Apple thinks that a blind person using Voiceover would not want to have this announcement. I don’t care if Siri announces it or if in our case Voiceover would announce it, but to simply not have it say anything is just silly. Can others reproduce this?
