Personally, mine is set to never.
If I want my screen locked I'll just hit the power button.
I do not want my phone locking itself.

In settings, general, auto-lock there is a place to choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 minutes or never. I set mine to 2 minutes. The default was 1 minute. I am thinking of going to 3 minutes since it is easy to hit the lock button before putting the phone in my pocket.
So the time can be changed.

Subject: Re: Locked Screen Too Short

I've actually come to appreciate this. If my phone accidentally gets to the unlock screen by me bumping it or doing something I didn't intend, I don't have to stop and lock it because I know that if I don't do anything it will soon lock again. I do exactly what you describe; I listen and from what I hear only deal with it if I think it's urgent. At first i didn't like the shortened time and if you are new especially I think it could be aggravating but I've becomed accustomed to it.

Yes, the lock screen timeout is quicker. No, there is no setting to change this. Sighted people quickly glance at their iPhone to see if the message is urgent. If so, they unlock the phone and deal with the message. Otherwise, they deal with it later. We must do the same. You can always send a message to <mailto:[email protected]>[email protected] and request they extend the lock screen timeout to what it was before. It is a good idea to briefly explain why. After all, Apple may well have reduced the time because of comments from sighted people who felt the screen remained active for too much time during the lock screen display.

Hi, when I hit the Home button to read incoming texts, the iPhone will lock the screen before I'm finished listening to messages. It seems to time out far quicker than in previous versions. Is there a setting I can adjust somewhere to make the screen stay active longer? Thanks.--Joe
