Hello Alison, I have also been a guide dog user since 1994, actually just received my 4th dog and having fun with my first girl dog, all 3 dogs I had before were male. Anyways, keep in mind that while I agree that the hands free aspect of the Ray-ban Meta smart glasses is a big help, for me this applies primarily to video and photos. Strictly speaking when it comes to phone calls and other audio, the glasses are no more than a Bluetooth headset and you could have the same benefit from any other headset starting with the $19.99 wired EarPods. You would still have to reach up with your right hand and press the middle area of the inline remote to answer a call, but unless your right hand is also completely loaded down with something I find this is easy to do. It does of course also mean that you have the right EarPod in your ear as you walk along which I don't find intrusive and I can still hear fine. If you wanted completely uncovered ears there are headsets like the Aftershokz models where again a simple button push on the headset would answer a call. I unfortunately have to exchange my glasses today because they are not charging any more. I hadn't used them in a while and had switched them off on the switch on the glasses and left them in their case and when I took them out and switched them on I had no response whatsoever. I put them back in the case and plugged n the case and it said in the app that the glasses were connected but battery showed at 0% for hours. I stopped by our little Best Buy Express and they guy pointed out that the right arm near the hinge had a crack in it, but he said he could probably exchange them. He asked if I still had the box and I told him I did so this morning I will stop by with the box and hopefully get a new pair. I actually have no idea how this happened because I know I didn't even drop them once yet and the only thing I can think of is that I had the case in my backpack and something heavy got put on top or maybe it got squished on my recent flight from or to Toronto. It's a good lesson and I wish Ray-Ban had decided to make a hard case instead of the soft case which has some rigidity but I think it's still possible for something like that to happen if the case is really squished. I would recommend to anybody to be careful and to make sure the case is in a place where it is not subject to such forces.
