Fred, You speak about knowing where everything is in your home and making calls. But how about those of us who are regularly out and about where you can't simply use a scanner to scan something. Also, if I am in the kitchen and I want to identify one of possibly 3 or 4 similar packages, I certainly would not want to go to where my scanner is and scan each package one by one if I could simply say "Meta AI, what am I holding" and within less than 5 seconds the glasses have taken a picture and I get a description which is likely to include the information I want without me having to even put the package down. What about those of use who may have an Aira subscription or rely on a Be My Eyes sighted helper often or people who enjoy making video calls so the friend or relative they speak with can see what they are looking at or provide assistance? My Airpods cost almost as much as the smart glasses when I picked them up with 20% off during Black Friday and I probably use the glasses more than my Airpods because I like listening to audio books and I find it a particular good experience to do so with the speakers built into the gglasses. Everybody has to decide for themselves if what the glasses offer is worth $300 to them, I personally also think it's silly to drop whatever the cost is nowadays of a VictorReader Stream or Booksense if you have an iPhone which is perfectly capable to play anything you can play on one of these devices, but some may just prefer ti so that is their choice. But you can't really recommend people should not buy them based on what you read and what your needs may be, at least if somebody thinks they may find any aspect of the glasses useful, they should try it as they can always return them within 30 days if it turns out they sound better than they are.
