This morning, while talking with the Apple Accessibility Adviser, I tried what you are describing. I got no sound or vibration. Control Center never appeared. I thought maybe the adviser was new to her job. I told fer that what she was telling me did not work for me. Since we weren't getting anywhere, I asked her to write up the call and send my comments up the chain. Later, I got an email from Apple that began, "I'm glad I could assist you today." I was assigned a case number, however. I doubt anything will come of it. Thanks to Richard, my problem is solved.
