Yes, if you are leaving the phone on, it will run down. Another issue is
since your phone is no longer connected to a network, it will spend lots of
time and phone energy trying to connect to a non-existent network. My
iphone 8 did that and was always running down really quickly once I got my
Iphone 15. Once you create a new line for the phone, this issue should
improve. In the meantime, try putting the iphone in airplain mode when you
are not using it. That also helps because it stops the phone from searching
for networks.
