If screen recognition is on the rotor, it can be turned on accidentally, so you really want it off there. Open settings on your iPhone. Double tap Accessibility. Double tap VoiceOver. Double tap VoiceOver Recognition. See if Screen recognition is on, if so turn it off. If you use the rotor, make sure it is not in the rotor. That feature is to try and help when an app has accessibility issues, which the phone app does not. Also, double check under settings, Apps, Phone, and near the top, probably 3 or 4 things down the screen is Incoming Calls, make sure that says Full Screen. Every time I get a call including whether I answer it or not or it goes to voice mail or is a missed call my phone goes in to this control thing and I absolutely cannot get out of it unless I restart my phone.
