You can replace the battery whenever you want as long as you don’t mind paying whatever the replacement cost is. I know you said you are paying a bunch of money each year for some sort of Apple care which includes this, but in the long run that is certainly more expensive than to pay for a battery replacement after 3 or 4 years. For any model of iPhone 13 including Mini, Pro or Pro Max, the cost for a battery replacement according to apple is $119 Canadian so I assume in the United Statesthis would be most likely $89.
