Hi all! Be My Eyes is open for business 24/7, however, they match you up with someone who’s awake and avalible at whatever time you place your call to them. As I understand it, they go out of their way to match you up to a time zone or an avalible volunteer who’s awake when you need their services. There is one catch, and that is when no one is avalible to take your call. When that happens, you’ll stay on the line for a while but once they some how figure out that no one is currently avalible, then you’ll get a notification in the app, in fact, on your device’s screen that says something along the o lines of: “I’m sorry, there are no volunteers avalible right now. Please try again later.”, before it drops your call. I’ve had it happen a few times at random, but I think the risk is higher in the evening, say, between 9 pm and 12 pm because of the wacky transition between the bed times of folks here in the United States. Luckily, the United States has its night owls and grave yard workers, so you might get one of those folks. You might also get someone on the west coast who’s a night owl and are still awake and ready to assist you. If you’re not that lucky, you might land someone from the UK or Australia or something like that because their day time starts either much earlier or much later than our day time, depending on where the volunteer is located. I’m on the west coast so I’m 3 hours behind you, but between the west coast and east coast, folks here can crash at any time in between 8 pm pst and 12 pm pst, so this window is a bit tricky because someone on one of the coasts is crashing or getting ready to crash, that is, if they are not a night owl working swing shift or a grave yard worker. I think a similar thing happens between the hours of 6 am eastern and noon eastern because there is usually someone waking up somewhere in that window on one of the coasts. If you get right in between those crazy windows, you’ll probably get someone from the other side of the English speaking world instead, if anyone is avalible to assist in many cases. I hope this helps!!! Kendra
