| Seeing AI uses the cloud for documents, but the phone for shorttext. Barbara is wanting something that does not use the cloud. Beside VDScan, you might see if Pccmzmo Go is still available it might do a document on the device, I'm not sure. I use VDScan, but I've had it since it was released as Voice Dream Scanner. The trick with Seeing AI is is to hold it over a document, about a0@j or 12 inches above it, when it starts reading, cover the camera so it cannot pick up other text and it should read the whole page. I do not know if you can then save that...

Seeing AI has a document detection option and you can take a picture for reading longer text, like mails, cooking instructions and so on.

I try to hold the phone it can be annoying. it's great for short text, which is what it is designed for, but it's not so great for trying to read a whole page of Mail
Seeing AI when it just does the automatic reading is doing it on your device. and not using the web. This used to be called Short Text,
but is now just part of the read tab. I just confirmed this by turning off wi-fi, and cellular and opened Seeing AI and pointed it at some text and it read immediately.
If I tried many other functions like taking a picture, scanning a bar code, I would have had to turn wi-fi back on.

Folks, I believe that "Live Read" works on device. To my understanding, that means that nothing is sent to outside servers, making it an excellent privacy choice. i would use live read to go over personal information such
as, medical or financial stuff. Sullivan plus, Speakaboo, Be My eyes, Seeing aiAlly, Envision, I Can See, Help You See and Super Sense, to name those I've tried, all use outside servers to process. I'm sending messages to this group. Does that mean I have
already given up any hope of privacy?
