Amazon sells refurbished iPhones, and Apple may as well. Other than those, I would not consider buying a used phone. But, perhaps just makst sure to close everything out of the app switcher, and rebooting the phone would help. If not, try resetting your settings. You may have to reenter passwords and such, but the phone should still work unless those apps you mentioned say they require iOS 26. i doubt they do...
