I believe Canadian wireless is the second most expensive in the world; that's why it's so expensive. To be fair, we have pretty fast and reliable networks covering vast areas of land. Also, we tend to have pretty reasonable policies--you seldom hear of plans that don't include tethering, for example, and Fido was the first North American carrier to begin unlocking the iPhone.
