Hi, if you want to just move them from your external to your computer, open iTunes and in the file menu, select add folder to library. Select the folder/folders of content from your external and hit ok. This is the process on Windows by the way. If your a Mac user, from iTunes press command O, find the external drive in the file browser and add the folders.
I did miss 1 thing.
