Subject: Re: Blu Tooth braille display

I think such discussion would be great to have on list, as I'm sure
many other list members would have similar questions. I'm not a mod or
anything, just saying.
As of late, here in the US, I have found Humanware's tech support to
be much less than stellar. The Brailliant BI is a nice display, and
the one added perk you get with it is that you don't need to enter an
authentication code when first pairing with your iDevice, but I
personally don't enjoy the keyboard on this display. This is why
others on list are saying it's about personal preference. If you buy
one now, in the US at least, a 32 cell model will cost you just over 2
grand if you order online. This is because Humanware is doing a 20%
sale on everything ordered online for the next few days. I've worked
with people, like myself, who prefer the keys on the perkins style
keyboard closer together, and I've worked with people who like them
further apart. Another thing to consider is what you want out of the
display: Portability? Notetaking functions independent of the device
your paired to? Amount of cells? A price range?

It is really a matter of opinion. Apple has set it up so all Braille
displays work essentially the same. First question is how many Braille
cells?

I am beginning to shop for a wireless braille display for use with my

Is there a specific make and model that would be better over another?

Thanks.
