I'll quote from the user guide on the web page:-

Holding the Phone

Welcome to BrailleTouch, an app that lets you type in braille on your
touchscreen! We designed BrailleTouch so that you hold your phone in two
hands with the screen facing away from you. Let's get familiar with how
to hold the phone. First, pretend that you have a Perkins style braille
keyboard on a table in front of you. Place your fingers on the imaginary six
keys on the table. The first three fingers of each of your hands should be
touching the table. Now lift your hands up, and turn your hands so your
palms are facing each other. This is how you will hold the phone when typing
in braille.

Now pick up your phone and turn it in landscape orientation, with the long
side going from left to right. Flip the phone around so the screen is facing
away from you, with the Home button on your left. Hold the phone between
your two hands.

end quote.

So even this has ambiguity, if you rotate a line from top to bottom so it
goes left to right; the Home key would be on the right; quoting a line
from bottom to top and rotating it is a tad unusual.

I prefer the Home button to the right as that puts the speaker nearer my
best ear.

I suppose the first time we try it, all will become clear, tap the corners
until it says A!
R!
