Hi all, I was trying to install iOS 6.1 today. My phone got stuck in the recovery mode. I took it to the Apple Store and they restored it and now it's working. However, I lost all my data on account of the restore. Is there any way at all for me to recover my contacts, etc?
The guy at the Apple Store said that I should try restoring the iPhone with the help of the iTunes application on my laptop. He said that that might help to restore the data. I haven't been able to do that, though, because iTunes just doesn't recognise my iPhone. Whenever I go to iTunes on my Mac, all that I see are a few options like previous, play, next, mute, full volume, etc. I believe that it opens a playlist called 'ringtones' whenever I go to iTunes. It doesn't react at all when I plug my iPhone into my Mac. I have tried to quit iTunes several times and have tried many other things, but it still only shows those options like previous, play, etc and not the full menu which it normally shows when the iPhone is connected. It normally reads options like summary, etc when the iPhone is connected and you can then select the restore button to restore the iPhone. Cutting a long story short, I have 3 basic questions. 1. Is there any way to restore the data that I have lost? 2. Will restoring my iPhone with the help of iTunes help in any way to restore the data? 3.
