a last ditch effort is erase all content and settings found in settings,
general, reset. This will do exactly what it says it will do. Every setting
you put in will be reset to the factory defaults so you will have to turn voice
over on again etc. If you have your apps backed up via iTunes etc, you can get
your contacts, calendar, music etc back on your phone again assuming you've
backed them up to your computer or iCloud.

When I was having a problem with my iPhone 4 it wouldn't sync my ring tones. I
had added a bunch of free ones somebody gave me and I decided most of them were
stupid. I did keep a few. I deleted the ones I didn't want from iTunes in the
my music folder on my computer but they wouldn't delete from my phone. When I
did a sync of my iPhone it would say it was syncing but it didn't happen.
Finally the only I could get rid of it was the way I described above.

In the end, I got everything back but talk about nervice. It was a real nail
bitter but it did work.

  Subject: Apps Question.

  Hi List,
For months, my iPhone 4S has been stalling when installing updates to
apps. I've restored my phone to factory defaults, and the problem is still
occuring. When updating, I press the "Update all"" button, and the task
doesn't complete successfully. What to try?
      Tia,
      Anita
