I hope to get some straight forward info regarding how to set up a Pop3
email account
on my iPhone 3GS. In the past, with a couple of exceptions, the only
responses I have received
have been to praise the superiority of Imap over Pop3 or else asking me
to supply
the port numbers. I know the port numbers and security settings, and I
prefer pop3.
Please would someone provide straight forward info as to how to do this.
The account I wish to set up is with Pacbell.net, so I didn't need to
check out Yahoo, Gmail, or any of the others. I have gone into settings,
mail and contacts, add account and other. There I have successfully
entered my name, my user name, and my password after which I click on
the continue
button. At that point, Imap appears to be the only account type choice.
It does
appear however that if I go into the advanced settings, I can change the
port numbers
and perhaps other parameters.
I would appreciate knowing just what I am missing.
