Hi Dan,

If you compare Omoby and Digit Eyes you are compares Apples to Oranges (pun
intended). Anyhow, Omoby is an object recognition app which recognizes
things like logos, shapes etc. I believe Omobody may red a barcode if you
focused on one properly, but Digit Eyes is a dedicated barcode and QR code
scanner/reader which means you have to find the code or it will give you
nothing. In some cases Omoby may give you enough information, but in many
cases it will not. For example, I did sometimes get Omoby to tell me that I
was dealing with a can of Coke, but at other time it simply told me "Pop
can" and of course that doesn't help me much if I want to distinguish
between a can of Coke or a can of Ginger Ale.

Digit Eyes takes time to learn, but if you take that time you can get very
good results in a pretty reasonable amount of time. This is especially true
of smaller packages where it is easy to aim the lens in the middle of the
package from an inch away, start scanning and then slowly raise the phone
straight up until the entire package is in focus and it can read the
barcode. Even cans are relatively quick if you read all the help files
because if you do you find out that a barcode on a can with a label is most
always located right next to the seam where the label meets when it's glued
onto the can.

You also get best results with good lighting, I usually put the package on
the stove where I have a light directly above under the hood of the exhaust
fan or on my dining table which also has a light above it.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hi,

I tried digit eyes and did not like how dificult it was to get it to
recognize the barcode.

I have found that for me OMoby works much easier and seems to do a pretty
darned good job.

Just my 2 cents.

Hi.

My mother will love that one, when she tries to help me finding the
barcodes, and remember where they are located.

I have discovered that I sometimes can feel where the barcode is located.

I will recommend digit-eyes, but also download redlaser, it can find many
barcodes, and it is easy to use, and it shows the numbers, if the barcode
can not be found, and you can when write it down and search on google.

Best regards Annie.
