Donna, I much like a portable charger. I have a charger that has a 1800 mAh battery with 2 USB ports on the short side of the case. There is also a flip down wall plug which lets you use any wall outlet to recharge the battery or to act as an AC source. The battery has a recessed button on the front on the flat side. The charger is about the size of a deck of cards or smaller and easily fits in pocket or purse. I can charge my phone in my pocket or wile I'm talking. I just use the data cable to connect my phone to the charger. When recharging has completed, the charger will disconnect automatically. If the phone is totally dead, the charger holds enough juice to charge it fully about 2 times but it's rare that happens. Mostly I use it as a booster to not let it go dead wile on a call. I need to be in touch with people all the time and this acts as a backup to my phone's internal battery. They are sold everywhere iPhone accessories are fold. After I got mine, they came out with one that added solar charging to the same battery so you could recharge the recharger wile your recharging your phone or at least I think so after all that charging! <grin>
