NewEgg has a 10,000 mah battery on for 39.95, may be today only. I
purchased a 13,500 mah unit from them a couple of months ago for the
same price. Its a bit heavy to carry in a pocket but lasts a long time.

Alan,
What charger do you use? I would like to read up on it to determine if
it's what I'm in the market for as well.
Thank you.

*Subject:* USB Battery Chargers
Donna, I much like a portable charger. I have a charger that has a 1800
mAh battery with 2 USB ports on the short side of the case. There is
also a flip down wall plug which lets you use any wall outlet to
recharge the battery or to act as an AC source. The battery has a
recessed button on the front on the flat side. The charger is about the
size of a deck of cards or smaller and easily fits in pocket or purse.
I can charge my phone in my pocket or wile I'm talking. I just use the
data cable to connect my phone to the charger. When recharging has
completed, the charger will disconnect automatically. If the phone is
totally dead, the charger holds enough juice to charge it fully about 2
times but it's rare that happens. Mostly I use it as a booster to not
let it go dead wile on a call. I need to be in touch with people all
the time and this acts as a backup to my phone's internal battery. They
are sold everywhere iPhone accessories are fold. After I got mine, they
came out with one that added solar charging to the same battery so you
could recharge the recharger wile your recharging your phone or at least
I think so after all that charging! <grin>

*Subject:* Nick, Life-Proof Cases
One of my friends has a life-proof case and I really like the look
and feel of it.
Currently, I’m using the Mofi Juice Pack but I’m on my third one and
my husband is on his second. I think there is a flaw in the case
design in the plug where the cable goes when charging and there is
no way to fix it.
Anyway, I’m seriously considering the life-proof case because I want
lots of protection for my phone. Is there anything I can get to
charge it when I am on the go? I-Phone batteries sure don’t seem to
last very long.
Thanks much and I appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Hey Allen
Tech 21 is awesome as an option. There are tons out there and
it really mostly depends on personal choice. For example, I
have friends who swear by the otter-box series of cases because
they love how the cases themselves work. I use life-proof. I'm
a bit of an extremist with my phone though and willingly take it
places no Iphone would want to go, pun intended. Life-proof
cases come with a life time warrenty, if I'm remembering right,
but for me, most importantly it provides impact protecttion up
to 9 feet. Website rates them as 6, but mine's taken a header
off a 10 foot drop and came out perfectly. Again, website rates
water-proof protecttion up to 10 feet, but I've had mine down to
about 15 feet with absolutely no leaks. They come in a wide
variety of colors. They don't add much bulk at all. My only
warning to anyone using any kind of case advertising water-proof
protecttion is this, always check your seals before getting in
water if you can. most best buy stores carry life-proof and a
number of others. If you can, you might want to go to a store
in your area, and look around. Ask a store employee if they'd
mind to take a couple of cases out that you like the looks of.
Most employees are good about this. Hold the cases in your
hand, maybe even try your phone out in them. It won't work for
life-proof, because of what you have to do to get the phone in
the case, but it's almost garronteed someone at best buy will
have one and they usually are eager to show them off.
life-proof cases are meant to be used with the phone staying
inside at all times.
Peace
Nick

Alan,
I personally highly rate the cases from Tech21, they offer
three styles for the iPhone 5 and other models of iPhone /
iPad etc.
These are; a band that only protects the side, leaving the
back and front exposed, useful if you're desperate to show
off your Apple logo on the reverse :)… Then the shell style
which is a back and sides, I have this type… and finally, a
shell with leather folding flap that covers the front as well…
I personally did not go for the leather screen cover for
several reasons… Firstly, I've never yet, really should not
have wrote that :), damaged the screen of any of my iOS
devices, but I have scratched, chipped and generally marked
the backs and sides, so these are the areas I consider
require protecting. I do not use a screen protector.
The Tech21 cases are unique in their protection over all
other cases, they add all but nothing by way of weight and
mass to your device, only about a few mil each side, yet
they protect in a amazing way.
Tech21 use D3O impact technology, which is a revolutionary
material invented by the military to protect things, its now
found in extreme sports wear and other things like that…
Basically, its coloured orange if you can see anything, not
the case mark you, just the D3O which of course is inside
the case away from view.
What it does is spread the energy from an impact across the
whole case dispersing it. The material is relatively hard
when in its relaxed state, though upon impact it becomes a
soft gel like substance.
I have broken a number of iOS devices before I started using
these cases, and can tell you now that they are both
designed well, Aesthetically pleasing, but, importantly add
a whole load of protection without bulking up the device.

Well, I pulled the plug and ordered my iPhone 5 64GB just
before supper tonight. I'm hearing from my sons that I need
to get a case for it so I'm looking for recommendations. I
plan to carry the phone around in my jeans pocket so I want
something that will offer protection without making it
difficult to pull in and out of the pocket. Does anyone use
any sort of film to cover the screen for protection or is
that not necessary?
Thanks for any recommendations.
