I wouldn't worry too much about whether it's called a button or a switch. I tend to agree that it's not a button, but that's just because it isn't round. Buttons often perform a toggle or a switch, so the distinction seems kind of academic. Besides, no one seemed to have any trouble understanding what you were asking about.
