No. Leave yourself signed in. Then when you want to download a new app,
you'll be prompted to type in your password only not the hole ball of wax.

Thank you, that has done the trick, though admittedly it took me over half
an hour, darn I'm slow.
When I looked at apple id it said sign out, I didn't know I was signed in?
When I go to the apps store it always asks for my password and if I
remember
right that's only good for about 15 minutes, so, should I sign out every
time I'm finished downloading. I usually look at the apps gone free every
day and grab something or other just to try, do I need to sign out when
I'm
done?

Go to Settings/iTunes and App Store. The top item is a button called Apple
ID that shows your email address. Double-tap it, sign in, and I'm pretty
sure you'll be able to look at your account info and change your credit
card.
