Christine: There is no way to delete them even on line. I have learned to just delete them and let them go to the trash. I am such a housecleaner on computer or iPhone that I desperately wanted to delete all the messages from all the other "folders" on Gmail so all the folders would be clear. However, there is no way to do it. I admit I have needed to go back and find a message I deleted by accident so I guess having all the mail cluttering up everything is a blessing for that. Reggie
