Hi there. Just set up your Gmail account following the Gmail set up on your phone. It will pool that inbox and all the other folders as well, but unless you actually open them then it will not download messages from those extra folders or labels. Also it is correct that in the inbox it will only pull the message headers and the first part of the message. So this way it doesn't take up any extra space that has to. By default it will load the newest 50 messages, but you can change that to more. The last thing is you will want to turn off archiving so that any messages you delete will go to the trash instead of the all-male folder. I do not know how all this will be affected by your computer Gmail account using pop instead of IMAP.
