Hi Raul, As I helped in the development of this app, let me see what we can
do on our end. I can make no promises, because the App store should have
known that you had already purchased this app, but it may have gotten
confused by the fact that there are two versions. Who knows, but I'll check
in to this.

Neal

Subject: RE: app refund problem with list recorder full version

Hi Raul,

I would hope you'd try to advance it to another level of review.

This sounds very confusing, and perhaps Apple should be aware that apps from
the same developer with the same name should perhaps have clear disclaimers
or warnings or cautions to purchasors .

I wouldn't be optimistic about getting your $7.99 credit, but it may be
useful to bring this to the attention of Apple, and perhaps the developer.

Keith

Subject: app refund problem with list recorder full version

Hi all. I realize the subject might be a bit confusing. So, I'll do my best
to explain. Now, if in the end, I can't get a resolution due to my idiot
action today, then shame on me. Didn't we establish a few days ago that the
I in the name stands for idiot? In any case, here's the problem.

I was doing some app maintenance on my phone and saw that I had two apps in
the recording folder. List Recorder and List Recorder Full. I erased List
Recorder Full by mistake and then realized that it's the one I actually
needed over just List Recorder. So, I went to the app store and purchased
it. I should have known something wasn't right when I hit the
$7.99 button, which turned into a buy button and then after I pressed enter
on my password, I didn't get a notification that I had already purchased the
app, blah blah. So, I looked at my purchase history and sure enough, it
shows a pending charge for $7.99 plus tax for List Recorder Full. Back in
July last year I had purchased List Recorder for
99 cents and then did the in-app purchase for $7.99 to get the full version.
Some time from then until now, the app split into two apps, one called List
Recorder and one called List Recorder Full. So, I figured the apps had
split, meaning one was the lite version and instead of the in-app purchase,
one would get the full version for $7.99. Since I had already purchased the
full version due to the in-app purchase, I didn't feel right that I should
be charged again for this purchase. So, I wrote apple about this, providing
them with the purchase of List Recorder Full, and the order for the one last
year in July which shows the in-app purchase. I got a response from them
saying that the apps are technically different since one was an in-app
purchase, and the one I got today was a separate app for the full version.
In short, tough luck.
So, I'm wondering if I should follow up with this and see about getting
escalated to see if they will reconsider not charging me considering that I
will now have two versions of this full app technically. Of course I did
this all on the same Apple ID and all that, so it's not a question of IDs.
Technically they are right because they are two app versions, but I can't
figure out why I had both List Recorder and List Recorder Full on my phone
to begin with since the in-app purchase didn't add another app to my phone,
it just unlocked the original app.

So, am I the idiot for doing the purchase again, or do you guys think I have
a case? Heck, I'd even be willing to let Apple keep the $7.99 in exchange
for a gift card for that amount since I will still continue to purchase
apps.
