A Viphone member who prefers to remain anonymous recently thought to ask
if Standscan would consider offering Viphone members a small
incentive/discount since Harry expressed to that person that he was
happy their product was of such practical use for visually impaired
iPhone users. The Standscan was not developed with the blind users in
mind, but Standscan is a good example of a company who is responsive and
interested in making their product available.
The list member thought it wouldn't hurt to inquire and Harry replied
promptly and said that they had in fact already been considering such a
discount, but were just a bit hesitant because a few people already
purchased the Standscan and they were concerned how people who paid full
price would react if they now offered a discount. Said list member
suggested that in his opinion there could be a few people who might be
upset, but that on the other hand this happens all the time in daily
life. You might buy a box of laundry soap for $10 only to find it's on
sale 2 days later for $6.99. Furthermore, we are talking about a $30
product here and they are not offering a 50% discount and it is only
because a few list members contacted them and gave them such positive
feedback.
The anonymous list member has asked me or Cara Quinn to post the
following offer to the list: anybody who orders a Standscan Pro using
the discount "Viphone" during the check-out will get a 10% discount and
a free 9 Volt battery holder. This means you get the $29.95 Standscan
for approx. $27 + a free 9 Volt Battery Holder which normally I think is
$4.95. The 10% discount in fact applies to any item you order from their
website. Once again, use '"VIPHONE" without the quotes of course as a
discount code in the appropriate discount code field during the
check-out process.
