Hi Scott and Denise, OK, Scott, you maybe mix up the 3GS and the 4/4S/5. There is a very noticeable improvement in the camera between the 3GS (a 3 MP camera) and the 4 (a 5 MP auto-focus camera). Yes, the 4S also has a better camera than the 4 (an 8 MP), but the difference between the 4S and 5 is minor. The 5 still has the same 8 MP camera, just a slight improvement in the lens and maybe the processing in low light. I highly doubt that in terms of OCR and with a Standscan which guaranties perfect lighting and perfect stillness/focus, you would notice any difference between the 4S and 5 and probably little difference to the 4.
So, Denise, yes, the Standstand will work just fine with an iPhone 5. It is actually not designed as an iDevice accessory and will work equally well with any Android or Windows 7 Smartphone as it is meant to be simply an accessory which gives you great lighting, a stabil surface to put your phone on instead of holding it and the distance is designed to be perfect for most uses. I highly recommend you read the information at www.Standscan.com and of course there have been dozens of messages by now which you can review in the archives by searching for "Standscan".
