Hello Sieghard. I have not tried the 4s, so I'm not aware of how that compares, but was told that the saffire lends in the 5 made a difference in terms of working with glare. Not sure how much that would effect OCR, but I gather that you think not much. So thank you for that info! I ordered the standscan today, and am verry much looking forward to it.
