Yes, landscape always gives you better videos. It looks more like watching a movie screen or watching it on TV which is what the sighted are use to.

Yes, iPhone does offer help when taking a still picture of a person. You'll hear something like face in center of screen. When you hear that, fire. You nailed it. If it says large face then you know it's a close up. If it says something like small face in lower right hand corner, you are way off target. Note, it takes time for the camera to auto focus and report it's findings back to you so it can take awhile and there you are standing there waiting wile the person your taking a picture of is getting impatient. This does not work though when shooting video only pictures and then only facial shots. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lisa belville" <[email protected]>

Subject: Making Videos with iPhone 5?

Hi, all.

Yesterday I shot my first video using the iPhone and attached it to a text message. let's just say I was impressed with how easy it was and how well VO provided feedback.

The people watching the video said it looked Okay visually, but suggested that I turn the phone sideways I'm thinking landscape? because the actual video portion was very small and there was a black border around it.

I'm totally blind, so going on what people are telling me. What can I do to position the phone so that videos look better?

I use the back facing camera, and when I made the video, the phone was in portrait mode. Would choosing landscape help visually?

Lisa
