Ramy, this problem has happened to me very occasionally ever since I've owned an iOS device. I suspect it's a memory issue because solving it is very simple: simply reboot your device or close some apps. Rebooting takes less than a minute and you should be up and running again. Press and hold the POWER button until the "slide to power off" screen occurs; double-tap the slider, wait a few moments for your phone to shut down, then press and hold POWER for a few more seconds.
