The laws of physics are the laws of physics. look at the specs, and if the voltage and polarity are the same, and the USB connectors are compatible, it should work.

I think the answer to my question is that it is not a good idea, that I should use the charger that came with the device, but am I being overly paranoid?After all, all these devices say they can be charged from my computer.
