We have a new washing machine and new dryer. Both have a screen where information is displayed. I want to know how long is it going to be before the load is washed or dried. It takes a bit of fooling around with moving my iPhone 4 closer or farther away but in the end I can get it to say 1 HR, 28 Mins etc. That makes the app useful as far as I'm concerned and that with a 3.2 megapixel camera on the iPhone 4. I've heard the 5-S will have a 12 megapixel camera. If that's true, it should make it even better. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Krister Ekstrom" <[email protected]>

Hi, that's an interesting thing to hear. What i'm curious to know, however, is how people are doing with displays on for example Microwave ovens, washing machines, digital recorders and other things that have displays. I have had mixed results. Some give me enough info that i can act upon them and make settings based on the info on the display, and others won't work at all. I'm curious to know others thoughts and since the developer apparently is on this list, i want to say that reading displays are possible although with much patience and time and i wonder also if this reading in some way could be improved by maybe better ricognition of fonts used on the display or such?

Hello List,

I just want to praise this little app. I needed to do a check disk using Win7. Of course, there is no access with any of the screen readers for feedback of where I am in the process. With Talking Goggles, I am able to assess where I am and estimate how much longer I have for the process to complete. If one does not have this app; it's worth its weight in gold. You need a little patience because it can crash and bring you to the iPhone screen, but I have obtain enough info to get the gist. HTH.

Best,
Eileen
