I'm curious, how do you know what level of education someone has or
whether English is there native language or not? I have to admit, I
don't spend enough time keeping track of who all says what to draw any
such conclusions, and I tend to take each message at face value.

they were directed at inconsiderate list members. For the most part it
is obvious who does and does not speak English as their primary
language, and those who have good reading comprehension would have
easily understood what I meant. I'm taking to task those who ask
questions as one long run-on sentence without punctuation; those who
don't bother rereading or spellchecking before posting; those who send
messages of the "get on it" type.

Hi Christopher. Perhaps I should have written off list, but I was not just
directing my remarks to one person. I have seen this happen in the past on
this and other lists. Perhaps, also, I should have said that it made me
very
sad to see this happening rather than that I was tired of hearing it. Your
points are well taken. However I do stand by my wish that we be a little
more compassionate here. I know what it is like to have to verbalize one's
self in another language and it is not always easy. I for one, would like
this list to be supportive of those who are seeking help.

I think Neal does have a good point. The flip side to putting some effort
into the messages you send out so they'll reach the broadest audience
and be
respectful to the list membership is putting some thought into the message
you're reading and not jumping to conclusions.
I'm sure what I've interpreted as abruptness in the past or a laziness to
proof read, correct grammatical mistakes or use a spell checker has really
come down to differences in culture or language. This is one reason I'm
hesitant to coach a list member on how there posts are coming across,
especially on the list itself. If I think someone is going to be receptive
to some advice, I'll generally take that up with them off list, and I'll
try
to be very tactful.

How self-righteous. Take this up with the moderator. you are blatantly
violating list rules. As I'm sure you read for yourself, if the
moderator thought there was a problem he would have stated as such
since he replied to my message. How about knowing your place on this
list as just another lister and sending your rants off list--and no,
no one will get a chance to read your moralizing, but if you really
believed your own sentiments then public pronouncements such as yours
would not matter.

I am very tired of certain people on this list complaining about the
miss-spellings and incorrect grammar used by senders. This is an
international list. There are people from all over the world here
whose first language is not English. Perhaps if you tried to ask a
question in Japanese, you might have the same difficulty being
understood. If you want to answer an email and give helpful
information, I see no reason to insult the sender by asking them to
re-send just because you don't think their messages uses proper
English. If you really can't understand the question, you will
certainly need more information. However, in this particular instance,
the senders message was clear enough to be dealt with. So deal with it
or not, but let's stop insulting people who are at least willing to use
the grammar they have at their disposal to increase their knowledge.

Hi, I believe he's talking about N+Otes, which does look like a typo,
but is a real program. I have this app and the link is below.

It seems like an awful waste to take the time to compose this message
only to find no one will read it because it can't be read. This type
of post is almost as annoying as bottom posting because you have to
read through lots of junk before getting to the important content.

Hi
Don`t know about folders, but some notes program have pin code or
password protection that can be enabled in their settings. You can
then import and save different type of documents like word, pdf.
N+Otes have this options it looks like + notes recorder in built, but
the iCloud part of N+Otes does not work here. That is irritating
since the program is fully accessible and seems to work well.
If memory serves, i believe Nebulous have a password option with more
signs i.e. letter and numbers.
Take care
