Hi David,

What you mean is you can optionally change the standard duration of one hour to something else. What I mean is that it would be nice if one could create and event with no end time attached at all.

To given you an example, the popular palm PDA from the nineties supported that. I always had that as a default and only added an end time when relevant.

Software like Outlook/Exchange never supported something like that because of their business focus. And they typically used the end-time entered to visually the planned/unplanned time in a bar-type view. Although this makes it easy to see when you have time left available, this is mainly a business or planning thing. Either for people that plan a lot of events on a single day or because others can alter their schema. This all probably influenced the developers of iOS to assume that people's appointment always have an end time associated with it.

I must not understand what you mean when you say iOS calendar does not support an optional end-time. Though the default end-time is one hour after the start time, this can be changed in the set appointment start and end time screen in the calendar.

Hello Ron,

I see your problem. I hope to integrate that in the future. The thing is that most people do not need/want to set and end time for most appointment unless they have a full business schedule or let their calendar being managed by others. You may fall into that category?

I did the same thing in another app that I developed, Easy Calendar, and in both we would like to add 'end time' as an optional field. The fact that VO Calendar now assumes 1 hour is because the iOS calendar does not support and optional end time.

    Hi all,

I wonder if Jos is still monitoring this list.

One more thing I find is seriously lacking in VO Calendar is the
fact that I can’t easily see what time an appointment ends. The
app almost assumes that every appointment is one hour. It is
inconvenient to have to go into more options just to find out
what time an appointment ends when wanting to add another. I
don’t feel comfortable having people wait for me while I fish all
over for information as to when I am available when that
information should be available up front. If someone knows a way
to do this without jumping into the native calendar, please let
    me know.
