I use Thunderbird for email and there is a Thunderbird plugin which is called Google Contact sync. It's what keeps my contacts synced when using Thunderbird. So, if I add a contact from either phone, web site, or Thunderbird, ti's synced across all areas. -- Raul A. It is now worth $59,565,410,309. - Sheldon Cooper Twitter and Facebook user ID: rau47 On 5/10/2013 12:10 PM, Rick Alfaro wrote:Raul, How do you keep your contacts in sync with the PC and your iDevice at the same time? Although I can't blame Sieghard for not wanting to do this. You shouldn't have to setup more than one account to have the services you want. In my case I was already setting up several things anyway, so I figured, why not? For example, I setup a calendar service for my daughter's school schedule. Since I was already in there, it was no big deal to setup another one for my Google contacts. Speaking of Google contacts, that's what I use as my main contact list on both the pc, Mac, and iPhone. So everything is always synced. I'm sure I could do the same with Outlook.com, but since I'm already established with Google I didn't want to take the extra time to switch. -- Raul A. One handles mail, calendar and notes. This is just using the default setup for Gmail. The second is for contacts and uses the CardDav protocol. I still think it's a pain in the neck, if you use Google and want to sync mail, contacts and calendar you have to set up 3 different accounts, if you use Outlook.com with Exchange Active Sync you set it up once and it does it all. I'm sure glad I decided to go with Hotmail/Windows Live 4 years ago when I decided to stop using my provider's email, yes, changing email addresses is a bit of work, but I still have my provider's email so one can do it over time, but once it's done it's well worth it.
